These standards describe the minimum technical and editorial information expected on a published ScholarTool utility page.
A published tool should identify the calculation, conversion rule, decision workflow, or parsing method it applies. Inputs, expected outputs, units, important notation, and the effect of user-selectable options should be explained in language appropriate to the subject.
Technical claims should be supported by relevant primary, standards-based, academic, government, or otherwise authoritative references where available. Worked examples must demonstrate the actual registered method and state enough input and intermediate context for a reader to inspect the result.
Pages should state material assumptions, known boundaries, common input mistakes, and the difference between a computed output and an approved technical decision. Statistical outputs should distinguish association from causation and evidence from certainty; engineering outputs should distinguish preliminary calculation from final design.
Content and implementations are checked for consistency between the stated method, displayed formula, result, examples, references, and automated tests. ScholarTool does not assign a named reviewer to a page unless a real review record exists.
