• Where a logarithmic or propagation relationship is used, keep its reference and assumptions with the recorded value.

Common mistakes

• Confusing frequency in hertz with angular frequency in radians per second.
• Treating dB, dBm, and dBW as interchangeable even though dB is a ratio while dBm and dBW are referenced power levels.

• Using free-space wavelength or ideal power conversion as a substitute for cable, dielectric, antenna, instrument, or system validation.
